04 vs. 05

Hey guys I want either a 400ex or a 450r. My question about the 400ex is whats is your opinion on which one is beter 04 or 05. I personally like the 05 plastics better. I know the gearing reverse plastic and price is the differrence but what do you guys like better.

bad place to ask this, because the 99-04 guys are gona say 04, and the 05,06 guys are gona say 05... they are both the same handling and everything, really what it comes down too is what look u like better and if you want reverse or not.. and the revised gearing on the 05 doesnt make to much speed difference, but u can always throw a new sproket on

I have a 99-04 and I like the 05-06 better ;)

the 400 had a styly all of its own until the they changed it to copy the 450. at first i loved it, then i hated it...i never really liked the looks of the r until recently...they have both grown on me...
anyway, if i were to be in the market for a 400ex, it would be a newer style one just for the reverse...don't get me wrong, i don't need reverse, but since a new 400 would be for my wife, a reverse might be nice...as it is she is getting my 400 and don't mind not having reverse so...

The new graphics look sportier, but i still have to go with 04.

get the 05 or 06 with reverse

Your going to be the one riding it, so I would get the one you think you would be happiest on! We all can give you our input, but if you get one that someone suggested and don't like it then there the @sshole for telling you to go for that one! Just pick one.... YOU CAN DO IT:D

Really its just a matter of what you want. This site will never settle down on which one is better.

no yeah it sounds stupid byt we've raced a uellow and red one ( stock brand new ) and the yellow won....we even switched riders and same results....idk i've hearf somewhere that there faster

w/e ever im not that F*ckin stupid.....iwas just wondering cause i heard that on here and it was quwensedenal that it was true in my case. Hey if you replace your blinker fluid you'll have a BIG HP gain

In cars I have heard that being true. not color but where they are made at. Toyota had two of the same cars that where just made in different plants and one plant had 6 out of 7 being faster then the other.
