Embry-Riddle is a very good aviation school and one of my best friends went to Purdue for aviation. They seemed very helpful in finding co-ops and a job after graduation. He's now flying charters out of St. Louis for a contractor under Southwest. The guy from Embry-Riddle is living in New York. Last I heard, he was doing very well. I don't think he had any trouble getting a job after graduating.

I know that Indiana has a district mx circuit in the north half. I don't know how good the circuit is though. I'd say that you wouldn't be more than 3 hours from each race if you were in West Lafayette (Purdue).

Right now there is not alot of jobs out there and alot of people are trying to get in it looks like. If your looking for money then management may be for you. Of course the pay of a pilot may seem like alot but factor in school and college fees and you will see it isn't like how it used to be. This is how I see it and hopefully someone can show me im wrong

Hey C-dale chick,

Alaska's program is second to none, I've seen the UAA set up, and classes, and I was enrolled in some of thier avation classes before I got into flying with the military. If I was going to shoot for ATC job, and you didn't want to do it the military way, I'd go for UAA, its probably one of the most proficent programs to date, with a full ATC simulator, and tower, and the fact that its based on one of the largest aviation places in the world, almost ensure you get a job straight out of school, I'd take a hard look at it. Sure Alaska is quite a ways from everything else, but the schooling is second to none.

PM me if you want to chat about it, I'm not an ATC but I have friends on both the mili and civ side that are

Kara I go to MTSU and we have a huge aerospace program...its one of the best in the nation and probably the best in the south outside of embry-riddle of course. About half of my friends are in the program and they love it. We have a brand new airport, a brand new fleet of planes, and a brand new building that houses the department on campus complete with a full 727 simulator that was donated by american airlines.

anyway, our aerospace administration program is really popular. i think alot of the people specialize more in ATC, but there is a complicated business side of running an airline/airport/etc. and so i guess there are alot of jobs available on the administrative side.

just check out our school's website, www.mtsu.edu

if you come here though, you have to let me ride the dale....
