i don't know how much exact difference there is, but the 400 is quicker all around. for the right price though, it may be worth it to buy the 300ex.

Well a piped 300 vs a piped 400, the 400 will destroy the 300. The only way a 300 will out run a 400 is if it has a correctly built 330 kit in it with a good port job, cam, pipe, ect... If you don't have a quad, and your lookign to buy one I would look at the 400 more seriously than a 300. Also look into 250rs since your sig sais you have 2 stroke bikes. FYI, a 250r will flat out embarass a 400ex.

no way dude, i raced a couple 250r's and some 450 quads, and i beat them on my stock 400, stock vs stock the dvx 400 smokes a 250r, and my stock dvx beat 250r's with pipes, etc.

Well then the person on the 250r must not have any idea how to ride, or he forgot he had a 6th gear. Because there in no way a stock 400 could beat a piped 250r. Unless his motor was 15 years on the same piston. A piped 250r will run right with a stock 450r. And if you think your dvx can beat 450r's then you might wanna race someone who knows how to ride.

I would say jump up to something bigger than a 400ex if you can. I am really not impressed with the power of the stock, or close to stock 400ex's. I would sugest going with a 450, or a z-400, or even a 250r, you have virtualy unlimited posibilities with what you can do with one of them.

I agree 100%. 400's are very unimpressive in stock/ slightly modded form. A Z-400 is pretty good with a pipe, but if your gonna spend money, just do it right, and get something with a lot fo power like a 250 or 450.

I rode my cousins stock 300ex once a few months ago and I was really impressed at how much it sucked. It is way to small for me and had absolutely no power. I have never ridden a modified 300ex though, so I have no idea how they are.

lets see, my buddy has a well built 250r that is dead even with my 400 until he shifts into 6th gear, then he pulls away...on the track, as we are both pretty even riders, except he weighs a little more than me, the bikes were pretty dead even...i got him on the second to last turn. i had to take the chance and duck under him and push him off his line...that is the only reason we ended up not tied...

My 250R has just about everything done to it that can be done...on a stock cylinder......it will out run a 400EX in a heartbeat....but I think it might be even or a little behind a 450 stock.....if one of you butler boys find a stock 250R let know cause I wanna see how it runs against what I have.....I had a supposed modded 250R.....and it didn't run worth a crap.....even with the motor completely gone through.....the 250R gives you a feeling of going faster than you are because of the hit of the powerband......if you can't keep them in the powerband all the time....you aren't going to be faster than a 400 or a 450......I can keep mine in it all the time.....and when I got my 450 its hard to go back to the smooth power of the 4 stroke....it takes some getting used to

you must have a yoshi 450 kit in that dvx.
i'am not going to start a pissing match, but i have owned a dvx, a few 250r's and a 450r.
in a drag race the 250r wins every time, in the woods the 450r wins.
the dvx was a nice quad but they( in stock form) will not beet a 250r or a 450r.
