two Neutrals

ok here is what happened. my cousin (metalmellinum) took his motor apart; split the cases and replaced bearings. now when he shifts thru his gears he can go into neutral after 5th gear? any idears on what this could be? any info helps. thanks ahead of time.

the shift drum has to be broken or assembled wrong???? it almost seems impossible... the tranny, shift fork and drum in the YFZ's are a pain in the rear to get in!!!! I can se how someone could easily damage a slot in the drum assembling it!!!!

I just put mine back together and thought it was a joke!!! no way i shoulda had to force it like that!!! the manual helps...NOT AT ALL!

Ya we figured it out, it was getting stuck between 4th and 5th gear, acting like a neutral
