i found a pair of elka fully adj. quad rate w/ compression and rebound, and ride height adj. Are they any good? But it says they are for a xc racer. Will they still work for me if im mx?? please help, thanks

they are good....but i don't know what the difference is....

What type of a-arms are they going to be mounted on??
Were they made for your type of quad???

yes they r good, but id get a revalve if you want to do mx

they will probable be on epic +3 aarms, and its for a yfz 450

you can get them revalved by sending them to any shop or dealer that services elka shocks, (C&D, Quadshop, Derisi,) to name a few. Since your new at racing, as long as they are valved for your a-arm width the current xc valving shouldnt make a huge difference to you. Once you get really good or hit big jumps then the valving may need to be corrected. as i stated before, if they are set up for +3 a-arms and your weight, the xc valving will still work for you.

XC valving is alot softer than MX. Everytime i do a medium size jump on my 300ex they bottom out because they are set for XC.

how much does that usually cost to revalve them?
