I don't know if this will seem stupid or not, but i'm been shaving fenders for everyone in this area, and was wondering if any of you want yours to cut like the ones i've done. I use a jigsaw, fine grit sandpaper and a lighter. i just figure you can post pics of the front and back of the front fenders and i will draw the lin and show u where to start cutting. it doesn't take long but take ur time and move slowly.

^^ Its not just for looks. It helps lining up for jumps, Being able to see your front tires makes a big difference, unless you make a habit of staring at your front tires while riding, and smashing into things. It serves reasons other then looks. If you don't like shaved fenders, keep yours stock and don't try and make up other peoples minds. 300extreme you do a very good job cutting fenders. If I didn't do mine myself i'd send them over your way :macho

I've seen non riders who had a habit of staring at there front wheels while riding, and didn't seem to see things coming in front of them, hah :p

im so torn on this subject....

i do a lot of mudding, so if i cut the fenders i get muddier than hell

on the other hand, i do a lot of mudding. so if i cut the fenders i can see my front tires and do technical stuff easier.

its a LOSE - LOSE situation... you won't be able to see anything extra when you cut the fenders because your face will be covered in MUD. Its fine for flattrack and MX. BUT a big NO NO for XC woods riding, unless you enjoy being covered in mud...then I'd say go for it.

u actually don't get much muddier, after a good ride, look under the fenders, u will find that only the out line of the fender holds mud, more inside where ur body will be doesn't get muddy, u will get the same amount of mud on u , b/c the little that u get muddy from now will full, will be the same amout b/c only the outside catches mud dirt.now if u hit a big mud hole and it splashes up, yea u might get muddy, but u will with full fenders also, i still get muddier from the rear fenders when lose mudd goes everywhere than the fronts being shaved

Besides looking sweet and letting you see the corners better are there any known positive effects on drag reduction. Are you more aerodynamic. Does it add to your top end. I have a neighbor that swears it does.

Thanks.

You wouldn't notice it really...

I posted this in the Body section, but any idea's on how to shave the fenders just a little to look better, but not loose too much. I need the fenders for winter, they keeps my legs warm...

it will give you 5mph on a stock 400 on the highway or anywhere else where you can get good traction. i know this for a fact. about 4 other people told me this and i tried it and it does work. not really enough to notice but if you race another stock w/ full fenders..you will beat him
