Starter gears cap, which way?

I dont have a manual.. and cant find fiche online.. I removed the round cap that covers the starter gears, that has two bolt and an o ring.. on the inside there is a slit near the center, whuich way does it go? face top or bottom? thx..

only goes one way on my quad so just spin it till the bolt hole line up.

humm.. i thk it could go either way..

im speaking about #15..

Even in your pic it only goes one way. The bolt holes are not perfectly centered on it. If you put it on wrong it will not line up.

there is a little arrow cast into the cover near the edge that points up. :D :D :D

gotcha.. my powdercoater hit some powder on the inside along w the outside.. so i didnt see the arrows.. i clean some of it off and didnt see the arrows.. but i got it on one way. just wasnt sure if it could have went both ways, i saw the slit on the inner hub and figure it was for lubing/oiling, so i wasnt 100% sure.. so it could only mount one way because of the offset?
