I want to buy a cam for my 450 and it's going to be the curtis sparks cam or the hot cam. I have talked to some people and they say that the sparks cam is just an over priced hot cam, so I called curtis sparks and you know they said no thats not true. The funny thing is that I cant find any specs on the CS cam and the dude at CS would not give me them unlike hot cams. So can any body help me with this or is it true???

Not sure about the sparks but the stage 2 hotcam adds good bottom power , awesome mid and decent top. The stage 1 hotcam will add alot of bottom.

Many say that the Sparks cam is most like the 02 CRF cam. The Sparks adds great bottom and mid, but offers no top end gains. The Hotcam 2 adds all around power, and will rev out just short of the HRC cam..We have run all of them, but are still running the HotCam 2.

I beleive sparks now uses the Megacycle camshaft.

I think their naming scheme is slightly different to throw off the consumer.

if i remember the sparks X1 = megacycle X2,..

or something to that effect.

Megacycle only likes to sell to dealers now, so no consumer sales.

BTW: I use to run the mega x2 cam. awesome cam timing with bigger max lift than HRC (similar HRC timing though).
