running 250r fronts would be just like running stock 400 shocks.

Assuming you dont want to dish out the cash for custom TT shocks:

Since 250r shocks would be basically no change and 300ex stock shocks bite the big one, why don't you get a lowering kit so you can use your 400ex shocks you already have?
