how reliable is the FST 380-390 kit?

Thats a good question. From what i've heard about four stroke tech is they are one of the best with a 300ex engine.

put one in my buddy's, 2.5 years and counting with no problems. FST's kit uses a different rod with a bigger wrist pin which is the weak spot in the motor.

yea, the wrist pin is bigger (19mm vs 17mm) along with the rod. the small end of the rod is what usually breaks on the 300. it doesn't vibrate much more than stock either.

How did it run. Where was most the power at low,mid,high. Did he get an oil cooler.

he has oversize intake valves and porting, fcr39 carb and a good sized cam, so the power increase is everywhere, runs strong. pulls 15/36 gearing no problem. it has an oil cooler, not necessary but recommended.

i have the pro fab 385 kit and so far so good.i have the mods in my sig and the torque is just incredible.:)

where did you find that 385 kit and how much did it cost ya?

got mine from ebay for $115 shipped,piston,sleeve,gasket kit and sparkplug,oil filter.the guy that has the kits is scott smith racing engines,he used to be pro fab
