i have hurd that you cannot get as much power out of the 06 engine then the 05 engine... is this true... i hurd that John N. is running the 06 frame with the 05 engine?!?!

sounds like BS to me, the 06 has higher compression than the 05, the whole reason they changed was for more power....just look at natalie's quad though...if its the new design, youll be able to tell

well i was also thinking... if you have the 05 engine... and the 06 engine... if you put the same cam, piston, port 'n' polish... wouldnt it come out to be the same power?!?!

I haven't seen anything but mild builds on the '06's yet. I could have missed something though.

I do know the differences in the motors extend far beyond compression ratio. Most notably concerning power production are the differences in the heads. If someone is running an '05 motor in an '06 chassis, it may be due to lack of time in R&D to modify the '06 head and the fact they are NOT interchangable.

the bore and stroke is different on both engines so unless you change the cylinder and the crank/rod the 04-05 should ahve more torque and less horse. Just my .02

But if you dyno'd both before and after you should see a bigger increase on the 04-05 from stock to whatsever new compression you decide to go with.
