has anyone ran the dasa mx camshaft? I know its a webcam and have heard some horror stories of the cam breaking. Just wondering if anyone has had problems or not.

It is a 208 grind web cam. It can also be the 493/729 grind as well but he really likes that 208.

I for one will never put a 208 in my motor again. I was smart enough to take it out before i would have contributed in on a horrer story of my own :D 3 words....not going to happen <---hmmm i guess thats technically 4 but anyhow..

Im anti web cam

With that in mind i have a Web Mysto cam for sale if anyone's interested  I do.....

I have used used 4 different web cams for 4 different applications and they have always been great. the only problem I have heard is people overtightening the allen bolts for the gear and cracking the ear. there is a note that comes with the cam that says
DO NOT OVER TORQUE

Webs are very hard on valve trains. They will eat valves like crazy. More then one for a 450R has broken completely in half.

I know 5 people people running web cams in there 300ex's race motors(and by that I mean they actually race them). One in a play c-dale, and a mysto in a MX/TT CRF (quad) that is raced too hard. And there all holding up. I Have been running a stage 3 web cam since march of last year and it has held up just fine, I just took it out about 2 months ago and it was in great condition. I am just amazed that they are breaking in half, possibly a bad batch?

So far the succes stories have outweighed the bad ones so I am going to stick with my webcam. hopefully it holds up because the grind i am getting is way better than any hot cam, or any other brand.

yeah, me too. Mine was only ran on the dyno, after Dan installed it. Heck maybe Dan will buy it back to save me the constant gritting of my teeth when running it, out of fear that it will rip my valve train apart

Why is all this valve train stuff popping up nowadays when it comes to the 208??? What problems are you having??
