It all depends on the riding you want to do. I have a slip on but I am ready to get rid of it. They are great in the sand as far as I think. I am glad I bought one. Make sure you take it back for that recall though.

yea before i bought it all the 400ex has the recall done to it before it leaves the store... which is a good thing, i heard on the full systems arent much a difference the honda header i heard is a good one.... but i dunno i had a yfz450 and a polaris pred. before this....

Here's mine. It's an 04', but it's brand new. Last 04 dealer had, I didn't feel like waiting on them reapairing the 05's they had in stock because of the recall. So I took the last 04'

i have full but just ran with the slip on for awhile.. basicly no difference, the only time youd need a full system is if u had a built engine with new piston, cams, etc...

so dont worry about getting full system and go with a slip on what about that exhaust insert on ebay i seen its like a screen only to eliminate the baffel in it...


what about airbox lid off or on...

dont get the baffle off ebay its a waist of money. All it dose is change the sound. I know i was stupid enough to buy one. Now i have a white bros r4 slip on and there was a big difference.

anyone have problems getting theirs started when its cold? I have to stay on the throttle when the choke is on just to keep it running, pisses me off cuz I have to sit there and keep givin it gas. I have an 05' yellow.

my 2000 is hard to start in the cold...it has been a problem with the 400 since the start...i hear the e-start 450rs are just as bad...

Put a 42 pilot jet in and you won't even have to use the choke

i have a 42 pilot jet in mine and i needed to use the choke today...of course due to work the bike hasn't even been started in over a month, but still...

a 42 pilot should be less than $3 depending on how your dealer is

not a problem, my delaer is pretty good with me..i got mine for free...i wish it had solved the problem completely, but it did make starting easier...i hope to be able to start it at least once a day until the temps hit the mid 50's

heres mine i just put the fmf head pipe on and have yet to ride it. Pro taper bars on the way and maybe 450r shocks

sick 400's, im not to big of a fan of the new 4 hundies. i personally like the older models. but thats just me.

can the front fenders come off like the 450's or are they one piece?
