I need to know what the front 400ex motor mounts are made out of... please dont reply unless you know forsure.

Sorry, but Cast Steel, not 100% though... I can't see them being anything else...

all I wanna know is can they polish and not rust with sea air... aka oregon dune weather.;)

also can I polish my footpegs, brake lever or shifter??

400ex motor mounts are cast aluminum and can be polished,on the other hand if the footpegs,brake and shift levers are stock then they are steel.No good to polish unless you wont clear coat them and that wont last long at all.Shine up those motor mounts though.

Sorry about that, I knew they were cast atleast... And like posted you can polish steel too, but it's a lot harder, and doesn't last long.

I had mine chromed and they said high grade aircraft aluminum. They thought they were were magnesium at first which I sort of did as well until they acid tested them.
