Another 400ex Carb 300ex Question

IF YOU PUT A 400EX CARB OR BIGGER ON A 300EX. SAY LIKE A 38MM. COULD YOU TELL A DIFFERENCE DOING THAT CHOKE REMOVAL TRICK. BUT WANT TO PUT A 38MM ON MINE BECAUSE MORE AIR!!

probably not because with the bigger carb your gonna gain more flow up top but at lower throttle openings you'll lose some response.this is due to the reduction in velocity with the bigger carb.velocity velocity velocity is what its all about be it carb,porting etc.there are users on here that have had good results with a 400ex carb on a stock bore 300ex but a bigger bore and modded motor will benefit most from this mod.so far i like the 400ex carb on mine but i may try a mikuni tmx flatslide 38mm i have laying around,just "in case" theres some performance in there:D
