The bare is the best for the price IMO. I think the Walsh actually has more to it than pictured.

I don't race but I ride pretty hard, I made some front shock brackets that are bolt on and virtually invisible, NO WELDING!

If anyone is interested let me know and will post some pics.

Can you post some pictures and information on your shock frame brace.

Thanks

Here are some pic's you will notice some rust on the left side shock mount it was there when I bought the quad, I have dye tested it (magnaflux) don't see any cracks though.

Anyway,
I went to Home depot and bought a flat steel bar. (not to thick so the stock bolts will be long enough) but thick enough to be good and strong. I guess it's about 1/8 on an inch thick.

I cut a piece of cardboard about 4 inches long and the same width as the bar. I unbolted the top of the shock and pulled the bolt out.

I bent the cardboard at the angle I wanted so it would fit over both holes (frame and shock mount)

I transfered the angle of the crease to the steel bar.

I put the steel in a vise with the jaws right on the angle I drew so it would give a nice straight bend.

I heated the angle (all I had was a small propane torch, the kind you use to sweat in copper plumbing)and I hammered it and kept heating it untill it was the right angle. (Trial and error till it fits the way you want it to)

I had to slot the hole in the frame gusset (the one that is already on the stock frame)so I could have enough room to put the nut on the top bolt. ( you will understand what I am talking about if you start this) I just use a round file but a dremmel with a burr would work (don't take out to much)

Then I bolted it up just snug You will have to trim it it to make it fit because the corners will hit the shock.

I took a sharpie marker and drew the angles I wanted to cut off so it would look nice and not be touching anywhere it shouldnt be.

I used a die grinder and a cut off wheel to make all my cuts, you may have a chop saw or something that would work better.

I tried to put as much detail in here as I could but you may have to use some finesse of your own. I know this is not a high dollar gusset kit or anything but for those of on a budget it's better than nothing and it will help.

Don't forget to primer and paint them before you mount them or they will rust and look like junk.

And be sure and use a good grade 8 bolt and nut preferably the black phosphate one with locktite. A cheap bolt is gonna strip, strech and always be loose which is not gonna help anything.
