Your thinking of 400ex frames. The 250r frames are smaller at the top portion. I don't think it will fit.:ermm:

what would the point be in putting to ex motor in there if the 250r is already a awesome motor? but i dont think there will be enuf clearance at the top of the frame for the beefier motor.

The point is i do alot of hill climbing and my 250r's power band is very unpredictable a 400ex motor would be better in the woods and easier to control climbing hills

You could try to sell it to buy a 400ex or trade your 250r for a 400ex. But if you do that I would get the z400. It's updated reliable and quicker.

Ive tried to trade my r for a 400 on here and didnt get not one reply so i just took it off, my r is fast and in good shape, i guess noone likes r's better than their 400ex's

The reason iwant a400 motor on my r is because my r sits low and i feel comfortable on any terrain i never feel like its gonna tip on me.

it probably will fit, for years 350x motors were put in r's, leager even made a 250r/350x chassis at one time, it sold big too. Why not put a 330 in the r and have it ported for low end and use a low end pipe, it will have simailr torque to a 400ex.

You can make an R motor an excellent woods motor. Just have it ported for low end, get a matching pipe like ESR TRX6 or Paul Turner type 6 pipe, and a 36mm carb and it would be an excellent choice for low end just like you want for the woods. Believe me once you do that you won't want a 400ex motor.

Mark Baldwin , Baldwin Motorsports. He has been doing it forever , they built all of Timmy's 250r's.
