I will list my build to help explain the numbers.
05 450R with a 480 Hammer Headz at 14:1, Pulse Charger w/ torq tube, Mixxer Porting, Crf Ignition, Hrc kit W/ cam, Custom intake, Kibble White valves and double rate springs, stock carb.
Fuel was 110 leaded K&S mixed 50/50 with 92 unleaded premium. Roughly = out to 101 octane.
These runs will be with the DD filter, My custom intake, and Jimmy wanted to try I think it was an Esr intake for like a 35mm pwk carb but it wouldnt fit so we just tried the filter no metal intake. It looked something like this

Same but with Torque:

As you can see just the K&N filter made the most peak Hp at 52.9. But my custom intake takes the hat on Torque, 36.4 Tq. Needles to say I will be keeping the my custom intake on.
In my opinion, here is the best run, and what I ended up keeping my mods at.
Custom intake, 175 main, 5th clip on needle.

I will say for someone lookin for an enexpensive intake/filter setup you could try what I did. As long as you dont mind chopping up your airbox. So I guess this would only be for dunners.
Chop your air box down to just the intake boot. Buy your basic K&N filter, a bigger filter than what I have might yield better results. I might have to try the one Boone uses.
This might run you $30 for a K&N filter. Or even less for a foam.
Certainly better than $100 plus for a ESR, or RW intake.
