ticking noise

my stock 01 400ex has a ticking noise it alomost seems that the valves are bent but i dunno i checked the adjustment and it was right and i read that you are supposed to run 98 octane will that do anything with the problem?could it be the timing chain or tighten the timing chain or just try adhusting the valves again? PLEASE HELP!!!!!

you made two post about your engine clicking. just make one.


does the clicking noise get worse when you rev the engine higher?
double check your vavles.
it could also be your timing chain
