I am considering purchasing some 2-1/2" wheel spacers for my quad. I have heard that they can cause the stock bolts to break and can come off while riding on normal street vehicles. Does this happen with ATV's too?

I don't think alot of guys run wheel spacers.

I haven't heard any problems with them. there probably is slightly more stress on your hubs. Red Rooster300 has them on his 300ex and I have seen him jump decently high at the dunes and it doesn't look like he has any worries.

Maybe PM him if you have any questions.

I ran spacers up front for a year and did nothing but MX race with them and they held up pretty damn good,,,I wouldn't really trust them on the rear of the quad but up front you'll be OK.

Do you have to swap out the studs?

I getting a set of 400 A-arms and might try them on my 300. Since that was going to push the front wheels out, I was thinking about using spacers on the rear for a ride to see if I liked the "wider is better" that seems to be so popular.

Scott I know durablue offers 2 kinds,,,one has new longer studs which is the kind I had,,little more effort in putting them on but I hear there stonger than type 2. WHich type 2 you replace the stock lugs with other studs that are tapped so your stock studs screw into them...I like the idea of 1 longer stud over 2 studs screwed into each other,,and yes wider is better,,the added stability is unreal..
