gonna need a little more info from you...
but start with a spyware scan and a virus scan...
also count how many things you have running... everything down next to your clock is using ram... if it is un needed remove it...

what os?
how much ram?

Here is what I do....A good rule of thumb is to keep all important data on a seperate hard drive, or at least keep all of it in one folder (My documents is the easiest to remember).

If your computer gets infected with a virus or bombarded with spyware, or just starts acting slow for any other random reason, all you have to do is format and reload windows. You'll have to reload any programs you had installed, but you'll often spend less time doing that than trying to get rid of some of the nasty crap that's out there today.

Then once it's back up and running install an Antivirus, and a Antispyware program with real time protection.

A lot of people ditch Internet Explorer for Firefox also.

DEFRAGMENT and download anti spyware software. if that doesnt work then reformat will be the easiest most likely and you probably need to do it anyway. you will have a brand new PC
