Please Help.
We plan to race both the gncc and extreme dirt series this year.
We plan to race in the 70 production class and the 50 prodution class this year . Our Quads are set up for motocross..What all do we need to do to get them ready for extreme dirt? Can we use knobby tires? ..........
We did GNCC last year and we want more...The mx nationals is 14 races so we are leaning towards extreme dirt since there is only 8 races.
Thanks for the help.

You will have a big learning curve going to TT. :)
You "can" use knobbys. They don't say much about them in the youth classes.
I run go-kart tires in the rear and the knobbys up front.

Well a start would be:; Find out which rear tires you are going to use. I think most of the 70's use 18" American racers on the rear. You cannot use the kart tires like I do on a LT cuz of gearing issues.
I use my rear knobbys up front as they don't grab too much traction. The smaller the tire/more traction up front, the more they dart all over thus skeering the bageezus out of the parent/rider and sometimes a big crash.
Gearing is the next step. You will need higher gearing for the speed.
Clutch tuning to the gearing is after that.Usually a tad lighter roller weight.:)

Hey Rich,

Have you heard about anyone having any luck with the 16" tall American Racer rears for the 8" wheel?

Rich? :D :D
I have a set of 16" that we tried on the front. Never put them on the rear cuz we wanted to lower the machine.

Sorry Jack...

Smoking crack again I guess....

Im just wondering if anyone has tried the 16" rears. I have a couple sets and have had pretty good luck with them. Just throws gearing as we know it out the window.

MC :blah:

BTW, congrats once again on your 12 hr ride! Just saw that in ATV Sport!
