just looking for info on some of the price increases you all are seeing? i was just informed that arctic cat made a big price increase, along with other companies not related to atv's.
fuel, steel prices, general expenses etc all seem to be finally catching up to us.
anyone else have any price hike info?

my dads trucking company imposes fuel surcharges on their customers. their customers costs go up so they raise their prices. One big economical cycle.
There are tons of factors though.

The cost of air hasn't gone up yet, but the quality is getting worse... :huh
I've noticed a ton of things increasing in price, but I've also noticed a lot of cheaper quality products of the same purpose coming around like the cheaper China ATV's etc.

that sucks colby:scary: im sure the steel costs will affect other quad parts:ermm:
i know im working on the largest cost increase the company i work for has ever done. rising costs with regards to making the product and delivery are the 2 reasons.
ive been informed that many companies that make everyday products are pushing costs higher now that the new year is here. one shampoo/soap and make up company is projecting a 26% price increase, and food prices are about to finally jump higher.
sounds like fun:grr:

That's so lame. I still have 34 cent stamps left over. They hike the stamp price faster than I use them. Looks like I'll be buying a bunch of one cent stamps now:rolleyes: Also, I seriously doubt Walsh needs an extra 120 dollars to manufacture a subframe. Can you say MARK UP:rolleyes:

My dad owns a logging business, and a trucking business, and the same goes for him, he hates to have to raise the prices for hauling lumber for the companies. But he is left w/ no choice w/ the prices of fuel. Now the companies are mad at him for raising prices, but he cant gain 1 cent w/ out raising the prices w/ the price of fule. And wtf is the deal w/ off road and on road diesal being more than gas???

I actually was offered another job with my company in the Eastern Panhandle where Pappy lives I believe......and I was blown away with the real estate prices:eek2: I couldn't take the job because the salary increase wasn't enough to cover the housing cost......

Honestly, I'm supprised thay havent skyrocketed already.
I work for a very large PreEngineered Steel Buildings Manufacturer. The cost of our roll steel and plate steel has gone up 250%+ in the last 3 years.
At one point we were getting steel price increases 3-4 times a month.
It's largely due to the shortage of coke to make the steel. China's booming economy is resulting in major industrial building. Using up billions of tons of steel, and they outbid us steel producers for the coke to make the steel.
We had a ship in harbor full of coke and it turned around and left for China because they bid 50% higher than we bought it for at the last minute.
It will get better, but not in the next 4-5 years. They have hit a peak usage though, IMHO. So base steel prices shouldn't get much worse.

for what? name some bills that have made steel prices go up. blame the president because another nation is booming and can pay more. its all about supply and demand. do you want the guy to set a manditory price on fuel? if our goverment stepped in and regulated prices on stuff, it would go against what america is. you might as well go communist! now wasn't clinton the one that signed in the free trade bill? (i think) blame whoever that what for your jobs and money going to mexico.
