sparks or east coast atv's. CT also has a engine shop, just call around and see what's best. call C&D and see what they say, # is at the top of the screen.

Hw lives in Alaska so I would imagine shipping would kill you to ship it very far plus it would take longer. Find some place in California or Washington.

you're gonna be paying more than that especially if ya want a cam and maybe a few more things besides the bore and porting... If ya wanna spend between $1000 and 2000 (prolly more towards 2000 after shipping) goto curtis sparks racing and get a 465 done... or order the 465 parts from sparks and then send that and your motor somewhere else to get ported and have the work done which will be cheaper. or get a 416 and have it ported by like mikeboone on here. he does a good job. It's all up to you. your prob is your location because the shipping would kill ya...

Find some one to port/polish and bore. Then do the rest of the work yourself. Just take your time on it so people on here can answer any questions you have

I would have to suggest that also if you are mechanically inclined and feel comfortable you would save yourself money on freight because most of the motors shipped regular ground range from $50-$90 with insurance 1 way. you could send the head and the cylinder to get work done and you could assemble it.. If you don't feel comfortable look into some freight costs to have it shipped.

you dont need nowhere near that much for a decent rebuild. Im getting race port & polish 416 hotcam 2 new clutch. new guides studs, etc. for $550 installed. But its not a national company

I'm sure there's a machine shop up there somewhere that can bore your cylinder, that's the only machining you really need to do but a valve grind and new seals should be done as well especially if the head is being ported. The only part you may need to ship out is the head. If you're comfortable turning wrenches and paying attention to specs it's a fairly easy job to do.

Just tossing out some rough estimates:

Repair manual $30 for Clymer $50 for Honda
Piston & rings $125
Bore & hone $50
Valve grind and seals $50-$75
Gaskets $35-$50
Cam $125
HD clutch springs $15
Porting $150-$500+ depnding on what you want done

yep, and he suggested doing the work yourself! colby at c&d racing does a great job on parts and im sure would help you get the needed parts, preform the machine work and be there when its time to reassemble offering any tech advice he could.
