header bolts stripped out

ok guys i put a new exhaust on my 300ex and the header bolts stiped out what is the best way to fix it my bike just had bolts in it should it have had a stud and should i put in a heli coil or should i jus tap it out and use a bigger stud

i had the same problem on my 300ex.i drilled it out ,tapped it and heli coiled it and never had a problem.

i had same probelem on my 400ex and i taped it out worked just fine

I had someone mix Metric and US on the head bolts of my 250X so I had to helicoil and loctite it. It has been like this for 2 years now since I bought it from the previous owner and works fine.

I have an insane story about stripped head studs on a large diesel engine I worked on (about 28,000HP) I should post though.
