battery terminals keep breaking

i have a 99 440ex and my positive battery terminal has broken twice and the negative once. has anyone else had this trouble.

sounds like you are over tightening them when you install them. its very common if they are even close to being too snug.

the wire is pulling out of the terminal so tightening couldn't be an issue

do you have the battery bracket on? the little L shaped bracket holding the battery in teh tray?

yeah the battery is in correctly but the terminals are pullin out where they are pinched into the little brachet that bolts down. i plan to just make some new ones and weld it so it's one piece.

sorry, you stated battery terminal, not battery terminal end...lol

once they start pulling out, the only real fix is to solder them as you stated, even then they may not hold with the vibration and jarring found on an atv.
