What do I have to do to update a 2001 Raptor transmisson to a 02 and how much will it cost to do?

Well i have a 01 Raptor, Tranny just locked up on me in second gear. Have called around. I have what happens to everyone. So I need to order new tranny. Fine. Found it thru alba for 700. Thats everything. So just wondering has anyone made the repair? How is it? skill level? what do you suggest i do?

my first question is have you taken it apart to see if you damaged anything else? if you havent done it before, get someone who knows what they are doing and a service manual, follow everything to a t, replace anything worn, etc while you are at it, and be ready to spend a few more bucks. also, though i love to drink when i work on my quad, its not a great idea... take your time and do it right the first time

definetly ripperracing.com they have the BEST prices on parts and i would definetly recommmend letting them install it for you. i had them update mine, and it was qwuick and easy and it is better than anything i've ridden before. they are the same people as raptortranny.com. thanks
