if i buy an oversized gas tank am i gonna have to change my steering stem length. thanks

I didn't have to on mine. Even after I went to an aftermarket stem, the bars/clamp/stem don't hit the tank.

iu have an after market stem but its stock lenght. also what kind of tank do you have

I had a stock length aftermarket stem, but now I am using a +1 aftermarket and no issues either.

I am using a Clarke tank.

You just have to watch the IMS 4 gal. tanks they work with either stock length or + 2 stems... +1's will not work with the way they are shaped.

I also know some of the older ims tanks have a problem with the mounting. You must moddify the rear tank brackets, so you can slide the tank back more.

My Clark 4 gallon I used a stock height aftermarket and it doesn't hit....

:huh I'm pretty sure the clark tank works with any stem
