Those prices are actually not that bad for a new pipe on a brand new model, especially a quality system like a yoshi. I assume those prices are for the full system.

Oh yea 911, There is nothing like the sound and performance of a full system. Well worth it

You ever look at the price for a Ti. now? For a 450r its 745.

Price on the 450r is listed at this on the Pro Circuit site:
Silencer - 524.95
Header - 274.95
Full - 799.90

So 775 for the list price on a comparable Yoshimura system (Ti to Ti), the Yoshimura is actually cheaper - and that's on a brand new bike/design for the pipe. Seems kind of rediculous, but Titanium is not cheap to buy or to mold. The performance/weight of those systems is unreal

Aye unless you're a pro racer whee that pound will make a difference, just go with a ceramic coated stainless steel system. ;)

Titanium is light, so i can see how you would save some weight.
But, how does it enhance performance? Is a titanium exhaust a different diameter then pipes made from other materials? If the titanium is made to the same dimensional specs as the other pipes, i really don't see how you can gain noticeable performance.

There are actually some performance differences in the pipes according to the metal that it is cast from. Different metals have different heat tolerances, heat and sound dissipation characteristics and so on. A ti/carbon system is also POUNDS lighter than a stock system or aftermarket alum/steel system.

Again, I can see weight savings.
But, do you think slightly better heat disipation (spelling) is going to equate to a performance gain worthy of an extra $200 to $300?

I'll eventually purchase an LTR450, and I think this quad would be fun riding around for a while as completely stock, with just airbox lid /& Exhaust baffle removed - basically no mods. Just take it to the dunes stock and see what it runs vs. the competition. Did you look at the baffle on the end of that stock pipe? It is a pea shooter for sure!

I saw a couple of them in person at a show and one of them had the baffle removed. I think that you still had the screen spark arrestor even with it removed. Basically the center restriction was out. It looked almost as if it was designed to be removed, but who knows if the production unit will be that way.
