Can i race a 250r in nj i am 16 years old and want to get into racing i was wondering if i am allowed to and how would i get started racing?

Well first you got to think about what kind of racing you want to do like GNCC,GNC or harescrambles etc...

ya u can, you would have to get an ama or atva card first.

you just have to found out where the races are and go. before you go, make sure you have all of the required gear such as helmet, boots, kill switch, nerfs. at the track, you can sign up for the atva

yes unless the series you run has a 2 stroke class. Our series neatv, has done away with the 2 stroke class, but they run them in the open classes.

engine size doesn't matter once you get into the full size classes. it's up to the rider. don't be worried about what the other guys are riding. if they don't jump and you do, your going faster then them.

Check out www.njhra.com and go to the motocross section. There is a race in June in Wildwood on the beach, that was the first place I raced and it was great. It's very relaxed and the sand kinda evens the quads out. It's AMA sanctioned so you nneed to be a member of the AMA/ATVA.

Ahaha... yeah it matters. You need a good motor to get holeshots and pull harder than the rest of the guys. And out jumping people doesnt make you faster all the time either. You wanna be in the air as short as possible so you can get on the gas faster than the other guys. I dont think YZEATER knows what scrubbing is.....

And dont worry about not having the fastest quad because you shouldnt expect to win when you just start racing. I'ts more of a learning experience at first to get used to the whole racing scene. Then when you start to really get into it, then you can get serious and start winning races.

mx racing is 90% rider 10 % machine. if you can double a section that someone is only singling thru, your going to be faster then them.

also i didn't know scrubbing on an atv was even possible that it even compared to a bike.

do you even race 79 south?
