kind of an odd question, but does the 450Rs parking brake actually work?

since the 400ex had that ingenious 1time only parking brake :p :D

just put it in gear, and it wont go newhere. pb brakes just make the quad look ugly.

It wont go anywhere, but think. If you let it rock around in gear, the gears will be hitting together and wearing faster.

Parking brakes usually only work the 1st couple of days.

Mine worked for a week and then broke.

Use 1st gear or chalk and turn the wheels:)

Ridin Jesse is right, leaving it in gear will cause them to wear faster when your transporting it.

That's what straps are for.

The parking brake works fine if you keep it adjusted. Way more trouble than it's worth to me.

I wish more companies would adopt Cannondale's parking brake method. It actually locks the front brake lever. No special adjusting required and no real extra weight.

what r the benifits of taking off the rear brake lock and useing the block out . besides the 1lb u save which to me isnt a problem is it for racing so if u flip hard on the bars and the rear wont get locked up, just thought i would ask i might just do my this way because it doesnt work. thanks

I don't see any reason it would lock the brake up as long as you have the locknut tight.

I took mine off when 1 day a was switching over to paddles and my axle would barley turn,my PB wasnt releasing until i tapped it with a hammer,,,so i pulled out the tin snips

Besides Chicks dig R's with no PB

first off, leaving it in gear isnt gonna cause any big wear, unless you constantly rock the bike. even then the wear is marginal. that slack is there even when the bike is running and in gear, you just dont notice because your moving.

if it was so harmful, they would advise us against putting our cars in 1st on hills(5spd guys) or even using the park feature on an AT...if you happen to know how weak that link is.(i know first hand)

if your parking brake is adjusted correctly to actually work then it will cause a drag with your pads on the rotor GREATLY diminishing your brake pad life. If you knew what was good for your wallet and bike you would immeditaly take the useless parking brake off. the only reason the junk parking brake is even put on there is for liability reasons so you cant sue honda or hold them liable for something retarded.
