View Full Version : Confused About Spark Plug Color
I have done a search, asked before and read the write ups about spark pulg color on this site. But what does it mean when the base of the plug is a dry black and the tip is grey/brown with a tad of white.???

Its perfectly normal for the base of the plug to be black. Since the tip of it is a brownish grey color that is a sign of a perfect burn. But since you mention that it has some white in it i'd go up to the next main jet size just to play it safe. Test the motor to make sure it runs good all the way thru the throttle positions. If it pops a little or bogs then put that main jet back in.
