dose shaving the head give you more bottom end and also dose stroking give more bottom end if so how close to 300cc's can you get off topic by what is the lightest rear rim for a 300ex other than hypers

1) Shaving the head basically increases your compression (similar to getting a higher compresison piston). It will give you a little more power everywhere.

2) Stroking gives you more bottom end grunt at the expense of over rev. The 300ex is already a stroked 250x.

3) Disregarding custom drag wheels, the lightest rear rim is probably going to be a Douglass Blue Label, but it will be very susceptiable to bending if you ride in rough terrain on 2-ply tires.

HiPer Beadlocks are not the lightest wheel, just the lightest Beadlock, which is quite a bit heavier than a standard wheel.
