I'm not refering to the distance between the tire and fender, It looks like the distance between the edge of the fender and the footpeg (heel guard area) is different.

Im just gonna guess and say the only reason its lower is because its flapping around. It doesnt look like it has any support, so its just moving around.

Its bolted to the heel guard. When Harlen posts the big pics you can see that it looks like this section of the fender is longer than on the previous pics.

Great article!!!! I honestly think this year is gonna be Jones though...

To me them nerfbars look nice, but I don't think there is a difference in the pic to the other on the fender/peg relationship. I think it is just the way the tubing is bent on them, like the kinda hook upwards maybe....

I do also! I have not seen him this happy about a quad since his Laeger/Sparks 250R days:) He has been turning some fast lap times on his redesigned(tougher) track. Maybe it it just that pretty new wife and baby that has him so motivated!:) :)

Yeah, I got it now. They made the rear fenders wider, and the stick out further.

wow are you guys kidding me. The fenders are lower because he's sitting on it and the machine is squatted down. come on now

Not refering to the whole fenders. I'm saying it looks like they redesigned the plastic so the bottom on the fender extends down more. Gust even hints to some things being changed from the original released model.
"I have been testing slightly different variations of the LT-450R in the last month to find out what works the best, and from what I heard, the finalized version is set to go into production in January to be ready for release in time for the Nationals."

You may be right. There is definately a differance. Personally I like the upward sweep better.

The fenders are flexible you know and those are prototype heel guards so there just bent down to fit for that day.

Call me retarded but I think they look the same in both pics...

I have a question also..... I wonder if the kickstart option is gonna kick forward or backward? I don't see it working verywell with Gust's setup with them heel guards...it would get in the way you would think.

I can't believe how off topic I am on this post!

 :eek2:

Evan I dont think that those are blingstar nerfs..as far as I know unless they are brand new (possibilty) blingstar does not offer any nerf with the kick ups..I think those are AC the stickers are very similar.

01-04-2006, 01:59 PM
Those are clearly blingstar stickers, they look nothing like AC's.

Go check out the Bling Star web site. They are going to have the first aluminum products for it.

Looks the same to me...

You have to realize that pic you posted is at a more upward angle, look at the bottom of the rear side panel, and compare the fender length.

The plastic look like it was bend down more to fit the heel guards... I'm sure if you put the stock heel guard s back on it would lift the fenders back up....

People are talking about a little bit of plastic that you can't tell the difference in because of 2 different photos.

I didn't notice anyone saying anything that Doug is using what looks like Axis shocks and not the stockers on the prototype photo.

Now does that say the stock shocks were not ready at the time of test or does it say Doug doesn't feel they are good enough for his riding style?

I know people switch out susspensions, A-arms and every thing else. Just seems a little odd that they wouldn't be doing a complete test of all the parts on the quad for those photos.
