How to setup a 400ex for mx and tt the cheap way

guys i need some help on setting my quad up for tt and mx i need some ideas and prices if have any plz help me im new to racing should i do suspension first and what do i need if so or teh engine first and if so what do i need

definitely suspension first as well as a good set of nerf bars, handlebars, a good killswitch and some good tires and you should be good to go. The only problem is a TT bike is going to be setup a lot different than a mx bike.

ive got the kill switch and nerf bars what kinda tires do u recommend how bout shocks and aarms i already got a lsr axle thnx for the input

I run american racers.Hoosiers are also good but I have been told they sometimes pop off the bead(because of the low pressure) but I can't say if they do or not.Alot of guys where I race use AFCO shocks but last I heard the wait for them to be built was a little too long.Just like 400exrider said tt and mx are two completely different set-ups.You might also look into a swaybar,steering stabilizer,-2" swingarm,extra sprockets(depending on the track layout)

like they said nerfs kill switch bars, +2 axle and a arms, get like a 440 or 416 kit but do the suspension first before the motor and then use american racers or hossiers for tt and like an itp mxr for mx a lowering kit for tt a sway bar for tt it's going to be alot of changing parts over between the tt races and mx races and it won't be cheap unless u are buying used

Check ebay and the parts for sale thread on here.There is a set of TT/Flattrack shocks for a 400ex for sale on ebay.I think someone in the parts section had a swaybar for sale
