I've never paid attention to which year, I've always ordered bearings for a CR250, they are the eight ball design. Part# 91008-kae-731

I honestly don't know if 250R's ever came with an 8 ball bearing, in fact I don't think they did, which is why I always ordered the CR bearings. I did check my microfiche and it shows bearings for 86-87 as one number and 88-89 as another.

88 and 89 motors came stock with eight ball bearings! If your 88 motor had 7 ball bears either one of two things are true. 1, someone replaced the original 88 bearings with 7 ball bearings or 2, you bottom end is not an 88.
