250R Hoods

Where the heck do you find these things at. I have tried every shop in my area and they dont know anything about them. One place called me back and said it would take like four weeks to get one because Maier would have to make it :huh Everyone that has a catalog says they come in red and white, but no black. Well Ive seen plenty of black ones on here. I thought this would be simplier and cheaper than getting a carbon fiber scoop but theyre driving me nuts.

EXracer8601 - about how much $$ was that hood? i looked on maier's site, but couldn't find it. is it made for a 400? or is it actually a 250r-specific hood and you made it fit? also, i'm guessing you just had to cut the headlight mounting plastic out, right? sorry for all the q's, but i want to get one of these and want to know what i'm getting into. thanks...

The hood was $41 thats including shipping. i ordered mine directly off Maiers site. Go to ATV section and search for TRX250R. When it Gets there, the first thing there is the # plate smoothy hood, thats it! I got black. You have to trim the nose off of your plastic to make it look like a 250r, but i have seen a few w/o the nose trimed off. Yes, you do have to cut the plastic headlight mounting plastic out. Simply get the hood how you like and go to drilling holes, the hood comes with bolts and clips if you may need them. One more thing, don't worry about the questions, i enjoy answering them. Later

EXracer8601 - thanks for the info. that's exactly what i needed to know, and yes, i am looking for the black, so i call maier directly. i did double check rmatv and they only have red and white for 250r.

i got mine from nac's racing they had it in stock when i ordered it, so i know maier makes it for sure, try nac's.
