Is this like every single one? Or is it more of a hit and miss with the dealerships?

it is every 2005 and 2006, you cant just miss it because chemistry is chemistry either way. the magnesium mixes with one of the chemicals in coolant and disolves away slowly, once it has developed a hole you will either 1. leak coolant everywhere and burn up your engine or 2. you will leak coolant into your oil system and fry bearings and seals thus locking up your engine

you can either not ride your 05 or 06 and wait for a recall (if there is ever going to be one)

or you can buy a 2004 clutch cover (aluminum) PN: 11341-07G00 (approx $110-120)

^if you know someone that works at a dealer you can get it at cost +10% for about 80-90

I think Suzuki needs to pull there heads out of their A$*'s! They've screwed so many of my friends over that ride KFX 400's for example one of the guys i ride with wrecked because the pin for the park brake had a weak spring in it and made the pin drop when he pulled the clutch in to shift into 3rd gear on a turn it set the park brake then causing him to roll several times.

That's exactly what i did to mine. Soon as that happend to my friend i made a block plate and took all of the park brake contents out.And i don't see the point of the park brake for sport quads because there's nothing wrong with just leavin the quad in 1st gear.

What i meant by hit and miss is: Is it certain coolant's that cause this reaction cause people stated the dealers are doing it and you can change your coolant to a diff type to prevent again after fixing it the first time....I.E. do dealerships on the east throw in diff coolant during setup apposed to us guys on the west? See what i mean?

its not a dealer problem, the quads come from suzuki filled with coolant. if your dosent have much damage, you can flush your system and switch to evans coolant. for more info, you can check some of the cannondale forums, they had the same issue with their mag. covers

I work for a suzuki dealership and we haven't had anyone have this problem. We sold 25+ z400's this past year. Plus I race with guys that have 05's and non of them have had problems either.

for the guy thats in denial^

the problem occurs as soon as coolant comes in contact with the mag. cover, but you wont notice anything till you have a hole around hour 125-150

oh by the way i work for the dealership too buddy

your right bradley300, the quads do come filled with coolant in the crates, all the z400 needs to be ready out of the crate is oil, gas, air and controls adjusted

the evans coolant is supposed to "help" not fix

Talked to the local dealership service guys today, i asked them and they said i am ****ing crazy. They said we pull them apart daily when changing out the oil etc and have never once seen that problem.....So i dunno
