I have an 06 400ex and the rear pads already have to be replaced. I've only had it for a month. I hardly even use them, i hope this doesnt continue to be a problem.

haha well mine usually wear out in one race

I dont know if there is a difference in 2004 and 2006 breaks but your going to have to replace pads, but mabye some aftermarket ones will last you a little bit longer

Rocky Mountain ATV has a selection of pads. Some last longer than others. I believe the sintered metal pads are susposed to last the longest.

my stock pads lasted 2 years..

do you use the parking brake? if you keep the parking brake adjusted to where they actually work it will cause them to drag and wear out fast..

sickmojave is right. Check your PB to see if it is dragging. You may also want to see if your rotor is not bent. Are the pads worn them same way or is one pad more worn then the other?

parking break = EVIL.. get a block-off before it really costs you..

stay out of creeks and keep the gear clean of mud and sand as often as possible.. also use more motor to slow down..

IMO stock pads are the better bang for the buck.. but im not as hard on my brakes, nor am i on it every day.. (or week for that matter)

Agree with the rest, get rid of the parking brake, and get stock pads. I have tried several brands, and Honda did the best for me. Tusk wear the fastest, ebc are kinda a medium, and I believe the last set was DP or something, they weren't bad. I would still go for Honda though.

on my 2002 400ex i need to change the pads every month. and usualy the longer lasting pads eat your disks.

mine is a 2000 and i have only changed the rear pads 3 times, of course the day it came home form the dealer, there was a block off on it...maybe you tend to ride with your foot on the pedal?
