sounds like he needs a CBR600rr. i use to have a CR250 and that thing was fast as sh*t. it was my first bike too. but i had the topend rebuilt and it made a HUGE diffrence so id try that

Another vote for Eric Gorr. He is the MAN! The biggest I've heard of so far for a Cr500 was a 550, but If anyone can do better Eric can.

Is the the jug stock or what? Does he have any add ons? Changing the pipe will change the power curve. Everyone else is also right about Eric Gorr, he can change the squish band to change the curve as well. There are many options with the CR500. All after 85' have been detuned for rideabilty. If you really want good reliable information goto www.cr500riders.com
This is the best information on our bike on the web, period!

That was one of the reasons I bought my quad. My buddies on quads either complained about the rocks that I was throwing at them or the smell of Castor 927 premix. Then if they put me in the back they say they feel like I'm pushing them. I told them it just sounded that way because on the 500 you can always run a gear to high and let it lug itself around.
