im curious to see what kind of gearing you big bore owners are running.right now im running the stock 13t counter and it has so much low end its ignorant.im wondering if i would be better served with a 14t but i dont want to loose too much snap.right now 3rd gear wheelies are butter.i have stock 20inch 400ex tires on it now but i will be getting some 18in klaws for moto once the weather breaks.im also 210lbs,keep that in mind.i have the 385cc kit from scott smith racings engines(used to be pro fab)

I run 13/36 for almost everything on my 330ex. I'll drop it to a 12/36 for really tight riding. I'm 185-190 lbs depending on what day it is. ;) I think you'd be pleased with the 13/36 for normal agressive woods riding.

the 350x came with 40t stock. i'd run 14/36, thats a good all around and you won't be bumping off the rev limiter. keep that big motor pulling.

have any of you mod 300 ex guys ever had it on a dyno i just bought a 300 ex with some work done on it would like to see how the numbers compare to whats out their hp and torque thanks

Yea, but every dyno is different. And they vary a LOT. Everyone seems to use a different correction. I get about 32 out of mine on a GOOD day. I think it peaked around 7000 rpms, I cant really remember, it's been a couple of years. I'd have to dig the old charts out of my storage. These runs were all on the dyno down at Wynoka, OK (Little Sahara) w/ perfect jetting and 25% race to keep it from detonating in the heat under that load and a pair of dyno slicks.

If I were to do it on Trinity's dyno I would probably have 65 rwhp.. lol.

Really unless your running them on the same dyno under the same conditions, you can't really compare runs. They can vary 5hp easily.

On yours it really depends on the level of work.
Stock starts out at 18hp on average.
Pipe/filter/jet will get you to about 21hp.
Add a cam you get another hp, but the curve is much better ;)
11:1 will get you a couple ponies everywhere.
Port work will get you some more on top.
Oversized valves will get you some more top end but sacrifice a little torque (the 300 has more than enough torque). The stock head is very restrictive (and it's not velocity ported so the smaller doesn't help).
400ex carb will give you better throttle response.
Rev limiter will allow you to peak your curve around 7000 rpms and still benefit from it.
Bigger bore obviously gives you more power everywhere, but reduces your rev speed. Stroking gives you more torque. (being overly simplistic here).

Is that in a 350x motor or a monster 250x? Wow that's a lot of displacement.. lol. That thing has to be a torque monster.
