Who makes the best Pee Wee sized chest protectors? I've looked at Answer, Thor, Shift, Fox, Acerbies, etc in catalogs. What is you experience as far as protection and comfort? I see the Shift is the least expensive, but is it as good as the others?

Heres an alternative for you. My 2 boys as well as most of Team Robbs Racing will be wearing these this year instead of the normal chest protector. They offer much more protection than a chest protector. IMO. Anything we can do as parents to keep the little ones safer is a great idea.

Are all of them basically the same? They all look like they are made the same with plastic shoulder caps suspended on webbing (like my old HRP Flak Jak I had in the 80's). I notice theat SixSixOne says theirs has foam backing under the shoulder caps also. Maggiesboy, I notice that you don't use the arm pieces. I remember my old HRP Flak Jak was a lot more comfortable without the arm pieces.

My son is a little guy and he uses an Answer one with no problems.

I saw one of those jackets that Robb listed and they are cool!!! My son will be getting one prior to the race season.

Contact him or the guy at the track told me to look at Rockgardn.com (http://rockgardn.easystorecreator.com/Browse_Item_Details.asp/Item_ID/13/categ_id/1/parent_ids/0,1)

We take the arm guards off, 99% of the time they twist and the boys complain about them. That is one thing that I'll let them slide on.

AXO makes a suit like the one Robb has posted, a very nice item. A few kids up here run 661 pressure suits, those are sweet as well.

My son is 7 and weighs 70 lbs. You may want to look at the MSR pee wee size. It was the first 1 he wore and it was very little. She will fit a pee wee 1 just right. She's about the same size as he was. Is there a cycle shop around your area where you can try some on.

is the peewee size the same as the youth size or are they 2 differnt sizes?
lizzie is about 30-35#'s, my wife says she's pretty tall for her age so i guess that isnt a problem.she pretty skinny so my concern is the chest protector moving around on her.

peewee, ys, ym, yl, yxl,s,m,l,xl is how the size run works for 90% of protector manufactures.
