I am having a problem with my head pipe glowing fire red when it is running for only like 2 or 3 minutes. jetting is set at 180 main, 45 pilot, fuel screw at 2.5, yz 450 dirt bike needle at 4th position.

will the the temp of the header hurt my bike.

also what can I do to fix this problem.

idn mine and all my friends quads do it, i think its normal. unless u can see it in normal daylight, i dont think its a problem. it can be reduced by jetting changes tho obviously...

They are jetted from the factory to run slightly lean while at idle. This is why they idle so hot. Just give it a little gas and some of the glow will go away.

when I give it more gas it seems to glow even more and farther up the header any suggestions.

u may have to rejet due to temp changes. my quad is jetted for 70 degrees and its been 20-30 lately so it been sputtering. i had the pipe glowing bright all the way up to my scilencer once:p

Its normal as long as you arnt bogging or anthing of that nature that would show jetting problems.

Just make sure you have some riding boots on.. Those things get HOT:blah:
