ipod alpine head unit question

i got a ipod and a rca hook up for my head unit, how the how does it work on alpine head units. i plug it in the back and there is no auxilary option how can i get it to work?

You press the "src" button,and it will go from tuner,to cd,to a external source,the external source is your Ipod

well i push that button and it goes to cd to tuner and thats all, but it also has a thing for a cell phone i tried that and it says no phone hooked up. i guess my head unit doesnt have an aux thing even tho it has 6 rca hook ups in the back.

well i tried my old head unit and it worked except the radio play with it but no aux

Do you have the thing hooked up right?does it have a yellow and black wire for the Ipod box?with mine i had to plug it into the back of the head unti and i actually had to ground the lil Ipod box to the frame of the car.LMK i can snap some pix for you tmoorrow if you need

i have 3 sets of outlets and they are red and white, and there are 2 wires red and white and it says left and right im guessin for the speakers

ehh idk then,im guessing that is what it might be for,sounds like i have a diffrent setup then yours.

Read your manual. You have to set the aux up. From the factory it's not activated, I believe. I have an Ipod hooked up to my alpine headunit and I remember having the same problem.
