I have been trying to get my friends Lt 80 fixed. It is hard to start when cold. I cleaned the carb and everything seems clean and the choke appears to work. It will fire off with the choke on and die after about 3 seconds. If you take the carb boot off and choke it with your hand to keep it running then once its going its fine and runs like a champ. If it sits for a few hours then it wont start again. I'm going to take the carb off my daughters LT and try that next. Could this carb be junk? If it needs a new one should I put a new stock one on it or upgrade to something else?

yes it is, I checked it. Also when its in the prime position it gravity feeds without vacuum.
They can be cold blooded. You mean cold as in frigid temp outside and the machine is the same?

Its fixed. The tiny oriface in the float bowl that allows fuel to reach the area where the choke pick up tube sits was plugged.
We usually leave that rubber piece out.
