Ok. For a while now I've been trying to find dual exhaust for a 2001 Ford F-150 4.6L. I don't want the dual exhaust out the sides though, i want the dual exhaust out the back of the truck. If anyone could help me this please reply. Thanks.

Why not out the back? IMO Out the back looks n sounds the best of the ones if heard n seen. And what do you mean by "dumped off?" Like stopped after the cab under the truck or?

IMO opinion id go true duals, with Flowmaster 10 series and run turndowns over the axle hump, the turndown gets the echo off the ground and makes it louder, and i think sound better... if your goin out the back go to your local custom exhaust shop and have them do 2 1/2-3" piping with Flowmaster 10 series or 40 series (your choice) with high flow cats, and have them run them out the back and have a nice set of tips welded on...

get some gibson, i know a guy that owns a pretty big company here in michigan (sport truck) and he said gibson makes the best exhaust for price

Gibson makes some awsome exhausts. I've got a supertruck exhaust(to much resonation to have windows closed all winter) for the summer and a dual rear for the winter for less resonation. Love them both.

Ive got a 2000 F150 4.6 with flowmaster 40 series. Just buy the 1 in 2 out muffler and then take it to a shop that will bend the pipes and install. I paid $80 for the 40 series and $200 for the pipes and stainless steel tips. I get compliments from people i dont know all the time on how good it sounds.

Buy an IMCO single chamber muffler, single in dual out. Same EXACT muffler as a Flowmaster 10 series but with a mere $30 price tag. This is BY FAR the best sounding muffler on the market for the 4.6 or 5.4 F-150's. Then go to a muffler shop and get your pipes custom bent the way you want them. This is the most cost-effective way to do it. You choose your muffler and you choose how the pipes are setup ;)

Go to an exhaust shop and they can run the pipes however you want them. Unless you want a loud exhaust, I wouldn't dump them in front of the tires. They sound good, but it will rattle the back glass and probably annoy you, I do most of mine like this, but most people that ride with me don't like it.

i've got a 2000 f-150 with 4.6 and i have a 2 1/2 inch cat back system with no muffler into a 3 inch chrome tip straight out the back and i think it sounds awesome. Its not real loud but its loud enough u hear it. Everyone keeps asking me what kind of exhaust i have on it :D

2.5" aluminumized pipe
(2) Flowmaster Super 40s w/o turndowns

1993 Ford Ranger 4.0L
(1) 2.5" Magnaflow circular muffler
2.25" single tailpipe
60º turnout chrome tip (passenger side)

i love my tundowns. sounds much better than with tailpipes. had a camaro like sound with the tails, but now has a more powerful sound. it is a 1992 GMC with a flow 40 dumped before teh axle.

screw that cut out the mufflers alltogether with a true duel and X pipe pipe. Put em out the back or it'll be too loud for you in the cab.
