you can tape the temp light to the brake line or other wires or do like i did and bend a piece of aluminum and mount it on the side of the steering stem mount and then put your key on the part of the plastic on the right side below the gas tank that is part of the front fenders   :D

when you remove the stock plastic key holder. remove the key switch and light. place a piece of paper under it and trace the hole pattern onto the paper.use a razor knife to cut out the pattern.tape the pattern to the plastic just before the gas tank.(make sure you are down far enough for clearance)and trace the pattern with the razr knife.remove the pattern, then remove the plastic from in the pattern you just traced. the whole thing took me maybe 25 min. to do. looks good and clean..added a little sealer to back of key switch to help hold it.the fender plastic is thicker..

I am 99% sure I used a 1" drill bit and that was the exact size. Just do like the other posts said if you plan to put it below the gas tank on the fender and check the back side for clearance. Also you can check the size of the hole when you take the key switch out of the handlebar plastic by sticking the drill bit in but like I said I am almost positive the hole is 1". Hope this helps
