Moog part # 2074R.I got this info from LSR and have used them several times. As matter of fact, there are 2 in my truck I need to install on the R now. They are tie rod ends from a Ford courier p'up

I work at an auto parts store and went through the Moog book completely, going from the specs that Moog lists for each part number, the best fit for my Lonestar arms was ES3045RL which are tie rod ends for an 89-98 Geo Tracker. I tried those 2074R and wasn't happy with them.

What didnt you like about them? Those 2074Rs are what came in the arms before LSR went to the version they are using now.

If I remember correctly, the 2074Rs were too long causing the top to hit my shock spring. The threaded mounting tube for the upper joint itself is only about 1/8" away from the spring, so anything that sticks out on the inside will hit the shock. If you have wider arms or a long travel setup this may not be a problem, but with my XC setup and narrow width, it sure is for me. When I talked to Lonestar, they wouldn't even own up to using an automotive unit, ever. They told me the ball joints were their own design. I know that my originals that came with the arms matched the ES3045RL exactly, including casting numbers on the joints.

I have +2 arms so the prob you had doesnt bother mine.I called them early last summer for some joints that I was in desperate need for.The guy I talked to told me if I needed them right then, best bet was the 2074r,since that was what their older arms came with.He mentioned the ones they use now were of their design and allowed for more movement, but they were like 35ish in price.I can find the moogs for around 20-25 and off brands a little cheaper.Good info,Rich,I will def log that # into my notebook as an alternative.Thanks.You wouldnt happen to have an auto application that works with the Laegers, would you?

If you can get me the thread size, and length of the threaded portion, I might be able to come up with something for you. I'm pretty sure Laegers don't thread in like the Lonestar ball joints do, so they'll have a smaller thread.

You are correct, they are smaller.Ill get the specs when I see my bro-in-law.They will be for his bike.

Lonestar uses a ball joint with a thread size of 16mm x 1.5. I tried using the 2074R's and actually still have the pair of ball joints( from a ford courier). I couldn't get them to work on my stock 250r spindles. The spindles need to be reamed for them to work. The shaft that mounts into the spindle was to wide to fit into the hole.

I havent experienced any trouble putting them on stock spindles.I istalled a new oem spindle on the stock framed R i used to run with the 2074s.Im thinking the stock joints are 16mm on the ball shaft.
