View Full Version : will a rear axis shock from 04 work on 06 if revalved

i was wandering if my 04 axis shock for the stock link will work if i get it revalved? it seems shorter than the stocker on the 06 so i dono. i plan on sending it out to gtthunder to get revalved for one of their linkages for the 06 450r .

it doesnt. its too short. im surprised. i put the stock 06 shock on the 04 to see if it would be fine so i can just sell it but once it was on and i took it off the lift i noticed the seat was 4 feet off the ground!!!!! hahha so i guess you cant use the 04 shocks because they are too short compared to the 06.

yea i thought they were differnt lengths

You should be able to change out the internal shaft to make the shock longer and revalve it to spec. We've done a few Elka rears from '04s....worked great.
