what oil weight should i use for cold weather?

hey, i have a 1999 440ex i am going to change my oil today and use synthetic oil i was wondering what weight oil i should use?

I used 10w40 in the winter, 20w50 the rest of the year.

i use 5w 40 synthetic all the time

it is for all weather

I believe the manual calls for 10w30 in the winter. Too thick and your asking for problems.
